Seeds

The final daylily seeds have been harvested for the season, and a bountiful harvest it has been. Uncertain of the exact numbers, but I expect over 7000 seeds.I love these amazing plump little seeds, each one containing everything it needs to produce a completely new and unique daylily. I look at them and wonder which ones will be the unique daylilies I am searching for.

Daylily Seedlings

Daylily seedlings blooming in the field this week. Although we are having an issue with thrips, this is one way of identifying the resistant and hardy seedlings. Some seedlings are able to bloom consistently beautifully, without any noticeable effect.

Clumping

My first daylily seedling has clumped out well.Probably due in part to my inability to set any pods on it, so all of it's energy can go towards blooming and expanding.
I love the carved texture of this daylily bloom. As well, it's sherbet orange color is brilliant against the water backdrop.
